What is Poly Gel

What is poly gel and how it differs from acrylic and traditional gel nails

Poly gel was first introduced in 1999, it is a type of nail product that combines the strong qualities of acrylic nails with the flexible, and qualities of gel nails. It’s different from regular acrylic nails because it comes in a ready made paste, so there’s no need to mix it with anything, and it doesn’t have a strong smell.

Instead, poly gel is shaped on the nail and then cured, or hardened, under a UV or LED light, which gives it a solid finish that lasts a long time.

Poly gel is made from a mix of acrylic powder, and gels, and other special ingredients that help it harden under the light. This unique mix makes poly gel stronger than regular gel, so it’s less likely to break or chip, and its lighter than acrylic, so it feels more comfortable to wear.

Its paste like form makes it easy to shape, and it doesn’t harden right away, so beginners and professionals can take their time to get the perfect look.

Unlike regular gel, which can be softer, or acrylic, which can be too stiff, poly gel will offer a nice middle ground between the two. It’s flexible but durable, so it can handle daily activities without breaking easily. When it’s time to remove poly gel, it can be filed down or soaked off with acetone, which makes it convenient and easy to handle.

Poly gel is becoming very popular because it’s simple to use, long-lasting, and comfortable. It gives a natural, polished look very minimal to no odor. And it helps your nails stay strong and beautiful longer without needing a lot of extra maintenance.
